A band that emerged at the beginning of the punk movement forming in 1976 were Wire, known for fast uncompromising intelligent lyrics they left Punk behind and created a new direction.


Colin Newman, Graham Lewis, Bruce Gilbert and Robert Gotobed started experimenting with sounds that were unheard of at this time, although never mainstream,  they seem to appear very regularly as influences of more than a few high profile bands over the years.

Wire has always been a complex band to listen to as you could never pigeonhole their sound, from the raw energy of the “Pink Flag” album to the sixteenth studio album “Silver/Lead” released this year the band has been on a musical discovery throughout their 41 years together.
